As some of you may have already read in my last post I have shifted my efforts to all things list building.

In this new post I aim to go into more detail as to how I hve now entered my first giveaway. Now, I have read plenty of times ‘take part in giveaways to build your list’. Well great, I find a giveaway, sign up and get amazingly lost! So here I again aim to show you where I went wrong and how I went through the process all in my non techie way.

I will firstly tell you that the giveaway I have entered is the St Patricks Day Giveaway

Bloody hell-EDIT! Put this post up 20 mins ago and then watched this video on WarriorForum and it made me cry. Just wanted to share this with you as it seemed the right post. Are you ready??

Well, what a whirlwind romance this has been! I have to say that I never thought I could be so passionate about Internet Marketing but thanks to Alex Jeffreys and a lot of you I really feel a connection with it. I care about succeeding and I want to learn more.

I felt that now was the right time to look back and evaluate what I have acheived in the last 3 months in preparation to looking forward to where I want to go and what I want to achieve along the way.

Well, in November last year I didn’t know what a blog was, didn’t really know what IM was all about and had no computer experience apart from surfing.I have now;

Well, taking on challenges is good for you, but i didn’t think letting you into ‘my world’ would be so hard! I think this was started over a Gary Simpsons blog but I have been challenged by Hilary Dickinson to write a list of facts about myself as she has done also.

So here we go…….

1. I make celebration cakes I love baking, I studied catering at college but was drawn to the bakery the most. I make cakes for all our friends and family birthday etc, in fact I have just finished one today.

2. I have a younger sister and 2 older brothers which in theory makes me a middle child but my 2 brothers are 20ish years older than me so I have always been the oldest of 2 girls at home.

Well we’ve done it!!! Its nothing like we had planned, remember, naration and a small tutorial etc. Well I downloaded a trial of Camtasia Studio and started playing around. Then I stumbled upon the ‘Contender’ theme tune which I had forgotten that I had downloaded. I just thought how apt, and I find it quite a motivational piece of music.

Well as you can imagine I didn’t need much encouragement to scrap the idea of my voice over so that was that. I have to say that Camtasia was extremely easy to use and unlike Windows Movie Maker you can have up to 3 audios at one time so if you wanted to have some background music as well as a narration, that is an option.

Those two cutie pies are my boys, and not a word of a lie, they are mine and Dads motivation for succeeding (I have to be able to afford to send my youngest to nursery SOON!)

Well as promised I am here to update you with our progress. We have planned out our video which we will be shooting tomorrow. We have decided to go with a mixture of screen shots, photos and text with a commentary over it.

Hopefully the finished article will resemble that description in some way, if not I will tell you all what went wrong, I want to come back and tell you what we found difficult and any hints and tips we can pass on to you.

Away from the video planning we have joined a couple of sites/forums.One called JV Village another ViralNetworks and lastly The fortunate 500. These are all place that will make it easier to keep in contact with and help each other, and when the time comes make JV contacts and pass ideas around to make us all money.

Well, I certainly didn’t fall asleep last night!! (we won’t mention the pro plus). Maria Andros was truely inspirational. She certianly matched Alex Jeffreys for passion and enthusiasm for teaching and showing people the way forward. It makes me feel very honored to be part of this.

But, they have left us with this task that is definately OUT of my comfort zone. But as we have heard this is a good thing and we will never move forward without leaving our security blankets that we know and trust, so I am holding myself (and you Dad!) accountable on paper, so to speak. We will be planning and putting to action a video for everyone to see. We may have to get a bit inventive as we have no webcam or camcorder between us so our first attempt may be in a slide show format of some sort. But as Garry has shown with his newsletter promo video these can be just as eye catching. So watch this space and hopefully we will be filling it!

Well I’ve heard them talking about it, so I set off to work out how to embed a video onto our blog. I know from what the more experienced marketers have said and done themselves that video is definately the way to go in expanding our blog.

I spent a little while having a go myself but all I got was some funny codes on my post, so I thought I would go back to YouTube and find a video of how to do it. Well, in the couple of minutes it took to watch the video I was laughing at my computer at how easy it was.

I thought that there was no more suitable video to put on here first than the video on how to embed one onto a blog. I thought that if I didn’t know how to put a video onto my blog there must be some others who hadn’t worked it out yet (well I hope I wasn’t the only one!!)

Well I first of I want to say Happy New Year to you all. This has to be the first step in my New Years resolution. BLOG MORE!!

I also must aplologise for my absence over the past couple of weeks, I’m not going to go on about it anymore but my head is screwed back on now and today is a new start.

I got quite a bit done last night, I know, I know, New Years Eve is a time for celebrating but unfortunately my other half had to work a 12 hr shift starting at 6pm last night so I thought that I should put some work in too. The worst thing is that he got no extra pay for it as his boss said that New Years Eve is not a bank holiday!! This is my latest motivation to get going now, next New Years Eve I will be able to tell him there is no need for him to work that night!!

Hi Guys, thought I should just appologise for my slight absence these past few days. I need to go back and re focus as I feel like I am not managing my time effectively at the moment. I thought I would share this with you all as this is our journal for this journey so good and bad should be written down.

Unfortunately I have to go visiting relatives this weekend (bah humbug!!) lol but I will be coming back with avengance on Monday. To make matters worse I fell asleep before the webinar started last night and missed it for the first time, next week I’m taking Pro Plus with espresso!!

I have some more names to put on the blogroll and a lot of blog visits and replies to make, to people who have taken the time to visit here. Thanks to everybody who has given me such lovely and helpful comments since this started, I really appriciate it and I am having a great time learning from you all.

Well, I didn’t think that I would get here today but here is my 1st informative post(I hope!).
I will run through the steps that I went through to get my blog from the standard Wordpress one through to what you see today. This is aimed at newbies who are just getting their blogs up now and might need a helping hand in getting up to speed, like Alex has said please learn from my mistakes and let me make it easier for you to do the added extras.
I am going to write this how I needed to hear it, so simple and not too techie!
Right, firstly if you want to change the theme/background of your blog, go to your admin page which is www.yourdoman.com/wp-admin then select the design tab, then click the theme tab. Scroll right to the bottom of this page and you will see ‘Wordpress theme directory‘. This is where you can look through and choose a theme to download.
Once you have done that you will need to go to your hosting Cpanal, you will have the link for this in your account information email from Hostgator. Scroll down and find ‘File manager’. Click go when the little pop up comes up.
Then find wp-content and click on the blue square by it. This will take you into the folder, then click the same by the themes folder. Once you are there you will need to click the ’Upload’ icon towards the top of the screen.
Click browse and find the file you have just downloaded. Upload this and close that window when prompted.

You will now see your new theme in the ‘Theme’ file. Right click on this and choose ‘extract’. Click OK when prompted.Becky
